From its beginnings as a one-day zine festival in 2004 to the ten-day extravaganza of workshops, panel discussions and performances it has become in recent years, the Emerging Writers’ Festival is a vibrant, vital part of Melbourne’s literary scene. It is, after all, the place where you might just find the elusive Next Big Thing. The festival celebrates creativity and innovation, and provides a platform for diverse voices from all parts of Australia.
