One morning in January 2020, Northcote locals discovered a life-sized golden head perched atop a plinth in All Nations Park. No plaque, no explanation — just a gleaming enigma gazing over the plaza. The anonymous installation sparked a whirlwind of theories, from guerrilla art collectives to nods at infamous art heists. Despite being toppled and removed, the head reappeared, each time stirring more fascination. We were lucky enough to help tell the story — capturing the saga, the sculpture, and the strange, brilliant joy of public art done differently.
