SECRETS FROM THE MALLACOOTA BUNKER

The Mallacoota Bunker is a former RAAF communications bunker located in Mallacoota, in far East Gippsland. During World War Two, the bunker played a vital role in defending Australia’s South East coast from Japanese submarines.

A century on, the Mallacoota and District Historical Society operate a local history museum based at the Bunker. Secrets of the Mallacoota Bunker explores what Mallacoota’s history means to its residents and tells the story of the Historical Society’s work to ensure the Bunker’s significance to Australian military history is recognised.
